Navy Day 1981 at Chatham

While it was working the docks used to have regular open days called “Navy Days” when the public could come in and see warships and other workings of a modern shipyard. It was partially a recruitment drive to entice people to join the Navy .

These were very popular with special trains laid on from London to Chatham station to bring people down

This a program from what was the last Navy Day and was part of the Boot Fair fund from last weekend .
